Dreaming of traveling to the places that Gullman visits and of writing a book about Manila, but noting that at present he has "too tight a hold on the reading public to make the results of the time and travel pay for themselves." Discussing the weather and mentioning the missionary Dr. Davis and Professor Foxwell.
